In 2014, he started What Cha with the goal of sharing his love of tea, which is incredibly diverse and unique in taste. He wanted What-Cha to be different from other tea stores, to be unique and to serve both producers and consumers. He believes too many companies rely on a small group of wholesalers for their tea. This is a negative for consumers because they find that many tea shops sell the same tea to each other, while for tea producers, this is a huge problem because their bargaining power comes from how much of the tea market they control, and they are forced to give big discounts to wholesalers.
