In 2001, a small deli with takeout options called Ultracomida opened in Aberystwyth. Later, it expanded to incorporate a tiny cellar seating space. Their main emphasis was on meats and cheeses from Wales, France, and Spain. They have imported products straight from the manufacturer since day one, with Gomeoliva serving as one of their original suppliers. They also operated a stall in Cardigan Market from 2003 to 2006. 2005 saw the opening of the second Ultracomida in Narberth after they bought and renovated Paul's parents' home. Here, they concentrated on creating a larger, kid-friendly, daytime-only, communal sitting restaurant space, and they expanded their selection of wines. The branch in Aberystwyth was relocated to its current position on Pier Street as part of their next change of location in 2006.
