Regent Cinema is located in the regent's center in new town center. The building was formerly a flannel exchange and is an integral part of the local flannel industry. It was built between 1830 and 1832 on the initiative of William Pugh of Kerry and other manufacturers to capture the flannelette market from nearby Welshpool. Undoubtedly the most magnificent building in the town, Regent Cinema paired the Doric pilaster with the later pillar screen on the plinth. When not used for flannelette sales, it becomes The Public Rooms. It is used for concerts, exhibitions, auctions, speeches, conferences and bazaars, as well as for quarterly meetings and summer cruises. In a typical year (1881 years), it was held by the chorus association, Signor Bosco, held a concert, "the only magician in the world and the Ventriloquist performance", and Dr Kirton "with the bible in the drinking water is the night".
