Oh Boy Records is an independent record label in Nashville, Tennessee, that was established in the 80s by a singer-songwriter and business partner and multiple grammy award winner. The label which was run by their family and is the second oldest independent label run by artists in the United States, continues to grow its catalog by focusing on authentic voices and providing songwriters with a platform to create art while speaking their truth. The background of Oh Boy Records began in 1980, when they moved to Nashville and ended their recording contract with Asylum. They decided to start their own label instead of signing with another one, and one additional person joined them. In 1984, they released their first full-length album, which was entirely funded by fans and helped launch the label.
