The fascinating history of Miskin Manor dates back to the 10th century, when Wales was divided into Cwmwds, or sections. Mus was one of these Cwmwds. The place name is thought to have originated from Maes Cun, which translates to lovely plain. Nest, a daughter of the Prince of Glamorgan, owned the Lordship and lived there with her husband around 1100. After that, the Bassets lived there for six generations before selling it to David Williams in 1857.
