They have by far the best guides in the canyon at Hatch River Expeditions. Each year, Hatch River Expeditions employs approximately 25-35 guides and swampmen (assistant guides) who lead approximately 64 trips through the Grand Canyon throughout the summer. Most of these people come back to work with them year after year – some for over 30 years straight! Every guide and bogwalker is certified (at a minimum) as a Wilderness First Responder, CPR Administrator, and Food Manager or Backcountry Food Manager. Many of their tour guides are qualified beyond the minimum requirements to be a first responder or even a nurse.
