Express Music was originally founded by Peter Brown in 1983. In the next few years, the company continued to increase its staff and moved into new office space. In 2003, Peter focused on a new company that was acquired by current owner Philip Graham. Under the leadership of the new owner, the company's business has grown steadily, currently employing 10 employees, 12 free music tutors, and holding more than 1 million pounds of stock. In 2009, Express Music acquired the Coventry Music Exchange / Another milestone year for the TMC store. The 10,000-square-foot building was refurbished and reopened in May of the same year as their PA and drum department and live guitar workshops and repair services are now available. They are still a private company with a simple concept, quality instruments, sincere service and competitive prices.
