Apex Rafting is a neighborhood family run boating organization that was begun in 1993 is still worked by Ralph Koerber and his significant other Debbie. In 1986 Ralph began working for a boating organization as a transport driver and guide-in-preparing on Toby Creek and the Kicking Horse, Kootenay and White Rivers, all in south eastern British Columbia. The following 7 summers were spent directing on the Kicking Horse River with some shorter spells away on the Ottawa River in Ontario, on the Gauley River in West Virgina and on the Reventazon and Pacuare streams in Costa Rica. In 1993 Ralph and Debbie moved to Revelstoke, BC and began Apex Rafting on the Illecillewaet River. They were only two small children with a van and a pontoon. Presently following 27 years on the Illy Ralph has driven more than 1500 excursions on the waterway.
